Ocean Mile Swim 2024

Date/Time: Saturday May 11th, 2024 6:00 AM Registration, 7:00 AM start

Distance/Course: South 5 Tower north to Atlantic Ave. and back

Checks Payable to: United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) Delray Beach Ocean Rescue

Divisions: Men’s and Women’s 14 & under to 70+ and 13 age divisions in 5-year increments

Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Medals - all age groups

Parking: Free parking with parking pass at Anchor Park & Sandoway Park until 10:00 a.m. You must pay the meters if you park along A1A.

Refreshments: There will be a variety of refreshments for competitors after the race.

Open Water Swim Warning: Ocean Swimming is a dangerous activity which may result in bodily injury up to and including death.

Ocean lifeguard staff will be on hand guarding the event.

The United States Lifesaving Association, Delray Beach Chapter, is your local 501c3 non-profit chapter of lifesaving professionals. Our non-profit organization governs lifeguard agency standards, public education, lifesaving training and national competitions. The core mission of this chapter is to provide safe and enjoyable beach experiences for our community. With the support from our friends of local businesses, we can continue to grow and improve our standards to the highest quality.

Chapter Goals

Teach CPR and first aid to schools and organizations in the community as well as water safety and rip current awareness

Send our nationally ranked competitors to lifesaving competitions to showcase our skills and learn amongst the nations most elite in the industry (July & August 2024)

Afford members an opportunity to attend educational conferences on drowning prevention held by the USLA

Organize beach clean-ups to inspire the community and spread knowledge about ocean preservation.
